Lekki is Lagos's newer, fast-growing counterpart to VI, stretching along the coast east of the island and split into phases (Lekki Phase 1, Phase 2, and beyond) that read almost like their own separate neighbourhoods. Where VI feels built and established, Lekki feels like Lagos in motion: modern estates, glass-fronted apartment blocks, and new developments going up alongside older streets, all pushing further out toward the coast. It's a younger, more residential energy than VI. Lekki Phase 1 carries much of the restaurant, lounge, and nightlife scene that rivals VI's, while the estates further out are quieter, family-oriented, and popular with people who want space without leaving the city behind. Beaches are a short drive away, and weekend life here often means brunch spots, rooftop hangouts, and beach clubs rather than boardrooms.
